Monday 15th September 2008


Well a great week has been had by all. Heath and Ayden are both cruising along nicely and both gaining weight as they should. If only i was losing the same amount they are gaining !!! I'd be one happy Nana. LOL. Fortunately they are extremely good babies and pretty much sleep and eat. I don't hear them through the night, which is excellent because i am getting my sleep without interruption. I am available throughout the day to help my DD whenever she needs it, which is pretty much never. DD has adjusted to motherhood like a duck to water. She is simply fantastic and taking it all in her stride. Very relaxed about everything, which is making for a very stress free house. Everyone is happy which is fantastic considering there are 2 newborn/prem babies in the house. Abbey the chihuahua is adjusting nicely as well.
On the weight loss things have been a bit out of sorts but trying to stay within my points. I think i went over them a couple of times during this past week which will probably show on the scales tonight. :( We have had quite a few visitors dropping in to see the babies and there has been numerous coffees and cakes/biscuits etc bought into our home which would not normally be here. This will all stop eventually and we can all be back on track. Its the temptation that i removed when i first went on my weight loss journey. I guess these obstacles are put in our way to see if we can move on past them. Some i can and some i cant. I am getting better though.

THE TWINS ARE FINALLY HERE !!!



Congratulations to my beautiful daughter and the birth of my two beautiful grandsons Aidan and Heath born Sunday 31st August 2008 at 1.42am & 1.43am to the proud parents Krystal and Kenny. Weighing in at Heath 6lb 6ozs & Aidan 6lb. Great Weights !!!
Speaking about weights i dropped another 500grams this week for a total loss of 15.6kgs.
Its busy busy busy here at the momement getting ready for everyone coming home hopefully Wednesday.

Monday Weigh In Week 17 & Star Challenge Week 7





Had a great week this week. Stuck with the program and the Star Challenge of dairy.
My loss this week was small only 300 grams but still its in the right direction. I do seem to have a few problems with carbohydrates. (They dont seem to like me very much ie. pasta, rice, bread etc) I have to be very diligent and watch these and increase my protein. I am working on it. No the TWINS havent arrived as yet, we are all still waiting - not too patiently now.!!!
I had a fantastic day on Saturday 23rd August - we had our old Primary School Centenary and met up with quite a few of my old classmates from way back when. OMG it was a funny seeing how they have changed. Also ran into one of our old Sunday School Teachers which was quite good & caught up with everything they have all been doing over the past 40 years or so. Really doesnt seem that long ago. Actually, couldnt possibly be. Arrrgggghhhh I'm NOT that old really !!!!! LOL Still managed to stick to the program which was a bit difficult since there was NO real food available nor any choices. We all went back to the local bowling club and there they put on chicken and corn soup & a bread roll. Nothing too fancy or flash that was it. I however only had 1 southern and coke and then drank water - for which i am very proud of myself as all the others had quite a few. LOL. Sunday was another good day. Went to visit Mum and try to sort out her water leaking problem - still not working properly but getting there. My Kangaroos got done by 5 goals against an inform Geelong side but they still did very well indeed, so i was happy with their result. Monday was spent shopping for the week and writing menus etc. The housework has been kept up to date & everything kept organised. Its now only a waiting game.

Monday Weigh In Week 16 & Star Challenge Week 6


This week has been a great week after my big birthday week last week. I worked hard this week to keep my weight on track after the big splurge last week. I know it didnt show on the scales last week and i knew that if i wasnt careful this week it would definately show up. However after weighing in this week with a new weigher (one who doesn't take the weight of your shoes off your weight) i was still lucky to lose another 500grams. So all up i have lost 14.8 kgs.
Our week here has been busy. My DD must be nesting as she has cleaned and thrown out and re-arranged our whole house. The floors are spotless. She has scrubbed all the grout with a toothbrush and polished and shined everything that can possibly be shined. She is so bored with all this waiting around for the TWINS to arrive. She is ready now for them to come. All in good time, i keep telling her. Secretly wishing they would arrive soon, to ease her boardom. My football team won their game on the weekend which was great as it places them in a good position for the finals. I didnt go this weekend because i was worried that my DD just might go into labour. As i sit here typing, still we are waiting. All i can say is that we are ready whenever it is.
Well my next goal is to get to 84.2kgs which is a 15 kgs loss and i am only 02 away from that so i'm working towards that next week.

Monday Weigh In Week 15 & Star Challenge Week 5





This is a quick update before i actually go and weigh in. The star challenge for me this week didn't happen. I have heel spurs and cant walk or exercise without excruciating pain anyway i have decided to get some new runners for my birthday and try and do some sort of walking or step exercise. so i will concentrate on exercise next week and do sugar this week. I don't have a lot of sugar so the challenge this week was good, until Friday Night. OMG did i let my hair down.. not intentionally either. My close girlfriends decided to take me and Krystal out for BRUNCH - OK can make a really good choice here. Poached eggs on small piece of toast with Sm bit of bacon & chamomile tea. Yeah not doing too bad just yet. Skip lunch cos we did eat really late. Mum came over for my birthday with the plan that we would go out for tea to our favourite Restaurant.. instead we decided to get take away from there, bring it home and watch the football. All going according to plan points within range almost. Everything looking good. Until Krystal's brother to a previous marriage came in with a bottle of Southern Comfort for my birthday and coke and diet coke cos he wasn't sure which one i would prefer. Oh well by the end of the bottle i didn't really care which coke i was drinking. EWWWWWW shouldn't of done that. That blew the points right out of the water, but i did have a few saved from the week. OMg but not that many. LOL so i am DEFINITELY NOT expecting a loss this week. I just hope the gain isn't TOO bad. thank god my birthday is only ONCE a year. Anyway not to be outdone my neighbour came over for coffee as well and i offered her a drink of southern so out came the 2nd bottle. LMAO F**K. WHY WHY WHY did i do this. 2am in the morning my 40th with GST, postage & handling finished. Thank god it wasn't a HUGE celebration. Well its was but anyway lets just move right along now to the weigh in which will happen tonight.
However i did get a fantastic set of Mundial Knives & some lock and lock containers from my DD for my birthday, new runners from my mothers (here comes the exercise), $100 Bunnings voucher from DD B/F, money for the movies, taken out to brunch, $100 from my DF for a new dressing gown (since my is disgusting lol)bunch of flowers not too bad for an old girl. LOL
Will update again later today with my weigh in details.
oh yes i did exercise yesterday for 12 mins on my step and this morning for 15 mins. I am also nearly DEAD so i may not get to post anymore. hahahaha

As i previously stated i would post my gain this week. well to my surprise i lost weight and i am extremely happy about. 600 grams this week. wooo hoo so i really do have to concentrate next week and put it all together.

Another great win for my Rooboys too. Come on North lets see if we can get in the four.

Monday Weigh In Week 14 & Star Challenge Week 4







Yes i know i'm really slack but i promise i will keep this updated from now on in. Ok this week i have tried really hard with the Star Challenge it was staying within your points. I'm usually pretty good with this so it wasnt too hard for me. I am trying to vary my diet so as i am not eating the same things over and over. Krystal my DD is keeping me very busy with last minute preparations on the impending arrival of her TWINS due now September 3rd 2008!!! Can't wait. The cot is in place now so its just a matter of waiting. Last report at the Hospital for Krystal was all good and the boys now weighing in at 2 kgs & 2.2 kgs. I also went to the doctors and my update is get on the waiting list for a fusion on my neck. This waiting list is approx. 8 - 10 months long. So plenty of time to enjoy the twins before my operation. The nerve Block they tried to do was a complete shambles & i finished up leaving the hospital without them doing anything after being stuck in the CT machine for 40 mins. NEVER going back there AGAIN !!!!
Oh and my weight loss for this week was 700 grams. all up 13.7 kgs. Not too bad. Dont expect miracles next week cos its my birthday. !! will keep you posted next time.

Monday weigh In & Star Challenge (Week 13)


What a GREAT week this week. Stuck to my points all week! Tracked. One thing this week that i did concentrate on was my Carbs - my WW lecturer asked me to increase my Protein this week and lower my Carb intake. I did this (well i tried to do this) I am still doing this. She seems to think it has something to do with the way that my body is losing the weight. Got me tossed. LOL Anyway i can only give it a go and see how it all works out. At WW tonight i weighed in at 86.2 kgs OMG OMG OMG !!!! i cant believe it. a loss of 1.3 kgs for the week. The weigher just laughed and said - your so true to form. big loss little loss big loss little loss !!! So we are waiting for next week since i have or am changing the what i eat re the protein/carbs etc. As i walked out of the meeting the lecturer sung out - dont forget to watch those CARBS !!!! Make GOOD choice ones. Guess she means dont waste them on sugar and crap. Oh well we will see how i go because i have a 30th party to go to in Wodonga this w/end and we all know what that means. Disaster for anyone on a weight loss plan. Now on saying that - how lucky i am not just on a weight loss plan. I have changed my lifestyle LOL so it shouldn't apply to me Ha Ha Ha Fingers crossed i can make some adjustments through the week and save enough points for any damage that i might do on Saturday Night.

Sunday end of Week 3 Star Challenge


Here we are again. End of another week on the Star Challenge. I managed this one perfectly because i love writing, so for me to track everything i ate was easy. I love the e-tools on the weight watchers website and spend lots of my day reading and scrolling through the boards. I get a lot of inspiration and ideas and recipes from people on the boards and enjoy following their success's.

Monday weigh In & Star Challenge (Week 12)




As i have been MIA for this week i can't really remember much about what went on. Only that my DD has had the flu/cold and has been terribly sick. We have been to the doctor's but she can't take anything for it as she is pregnant !! Unfortunately she just has to let this virus work it's way through her system. Here's looking forward to a better week next week.
On a brighter note my WI was .3kg loss (300 grams) it seems to be a pattern that my body has got itself in. My WW lecturer asked if she could talk with me because she has noticed that one week i lose 1kg or there abouts and the next week i only lose a few hundred grams. She asked me to talk to my doctor about going on CORE. OMG me and CORE - i dont think so. If i wasn't accountable for my food intake and could eat however much i like until FULL - i would NEVER be FULL !!! i HAVE to make myself accountable. Anyway next time i am at the doctors i will mention it to her. Well my DD TWINS are due on the 8th September 2008 (well that is when she is booked in. Might not get that far its just a wait and see.
I was really good with the Star Challenge this week having my fruit & vegies EVERY DAY. woo hoo

Monday Weigh In




Weigh in tonight was an amazing loss of 1.1kg which i was pretty happy with. I know i have been fairly good this week, but there are times where you are stretched to the limit and have to make the best choice out of a bad situation. I have struggled this week with lots of pain in my legs, shoulders, back & neck & havent been able to sleep well at all. By taking pain medication it causes me constipation therefore i tend to gain weight. This is a constant merry-go-round that i seem to be on. Since learning about this condition, i am more aware of it and am able to correct it without suffering too much. On top of this i have had a shocking tooth ache once again more pain killers. Anyway onward & upward.

I am very proud of myself for doing so well & sticking to this life changing experience. I love this challenge as i feel it is going to keep me on track at times when i would normally of just given up. Looking forward to the next week.

Monday - Week 1 Star Challenge

Weight in for me in tonight!!!!
After a busy weekend and trying to stay within my points the first day of the challenge is keeping the water up. drink drink drink.
So far today i have had to go visit an Aunty you know what they are like always wanting to feed you. I resisted. Next is mum and lunch. wooo hoo managed to stay on track again. Keep drinking.
Woo hooo another .3 disgarded tonight. Gotta be happy with that. Now its time to knuckle down and get on with this Star Challenge.

Sunday

Its been a testing weekend so far to say the least. With the graduation Friday Night then on Saturday i had a Primary School/High School Reunion at a Pub where we all met for lunch. It was a fantastic time. Lots of OMG's look at you now etc etc it was so funny seeing everyone from my school days. My choice was food for lunch was pretty good salad with prawns. I was excellent for drinks only drank water. I am really paying attention to what i am doing. I did knock back the rolls & butter on offer, which in the past was a HUGE downfall of mine. Mum and i came home and couldnt be bothered cooking anything for tea however my DD & BF went out for chinese so i only ordered stirfry vegies & short soup only ate half of it so not too bad considering that DD & mum had KFC. Today Sunday we are off to show mum the new shopping complex that has just been built. Walking should be good today all around the new Westfield. Breakfast was toast & coffee lunch will be vegie soup home made so i know exactly what i have put in it and tonight for tea we are having veal and vegies. Lets hope it all goes to plan. Water Water Water.

Friday - Graduation Ceremony

Well what a day !! Started off great breakfast and lunch then quickly showered, had my hair dyed with purple foils (fingers crossed this was going to work because it would of been too late to change as the graduation was tonight) Things all going to plan jumped out of the shower and OMG no hair dryer - it died. oh well it will dry in time. Get clothes ready. Hmmm i wonder if they will even fit me now i have disposed of 10 kgs. Mum turned up got chatting yadda yadda. Watching the news 6pm news mind you. Oh shit better go get ready we have to leave at 6.30pm. Better iron my clothes. Buggar, now the iron doesnt work. ( Oh well that will teach me) never mind chuck them on anyway. Hairdresser from over the road came in quick straighten on my hair, chucked a few curls in it ready by 6.35pm. OMG the food - oh well i have been very very good and i did have some fruit and vegies up there but i also had a couple of mini dim sims, prawns, sesame prawn ( my fav) i suppose all in all i didnt do too bad. The ceremony wasnt too boring and by 8.30pm i was handed my Certificate III in Childrens Services by the Mayor and having my photo taken.. All i can say is. Thank goodness i had disposed of some weight. Lots more to go though !!
Well that was my Friday. Its back to the grindstone tomorrow to work off those couple of indulgences i had tonight.

Week 10

Lets start here which to this point i have lost 10 kg and reached a couple of milestones along the way. The first milestone was my first 5 kg. the next was 10% which i reached along with the 2nd 5kg lost which also put me into the 80's. I don't recall being in the 80's since the last time i was on the ww plan, which was about 4 years ago.

A little about me. I am a lifetime member at weight watchers which i achieved some 24 years ago. My goal weight then was 58kg. OMG i remember being there ONCE in my life. !!! I don't think i stayed there very long because at that age i was too busy out partying and living life to the max. After several more attempts over the years i have lost weight and put it back on with weight watchers, jenny Craig, light & easy, herbalife, celebrity slim etc. I have tried it all. I have had many success's and many failures but through it all i keep coming back to weight watchers.

Weight watchers is by far the best eating plan . Its normal every day food which you have to prepare, shop, buy and cook for yourself and along the way you learn a lot about whats nutritious and what is a total waste of points. Value for money is what i am looking for and also what i can get the most out of for example. 5 rye cruskits = 3 ww cruskits (1 point) ( hmm now which would i prefer) I am also looking for ways to make my 'free' points go further IE. making yummy vegetable soup for '0' points leaving me plenty for lets say yummy piece of toast to go with my soup. I do now walk around constantly with a bottle of water glued to my hand. This hasn't been easy for me because i was never a big drinker of any kind. I find now that i am lost without my bottle of water. Its a great way to keep hydrated as well. Its very good for keeping things all regular as well, which i have had severe trouble with even though i ate heaps of fresh vegetable and lots of wholegrain breads etc.

I am not a huge sweet eater nor do i drink lots. Unfortunately my problem is Butter & fresh bread. I just cant say 'NO' to either. This has been made worse by me making my own bread & smelling it cooking every day hot and fresh was a huge downfall of mine. I have learnt to overcome this by treating myself to only '1' slice if i have been really really good. I now stick to the program pretty much perfect. Don't get me wrong, i eat heaps and lots and lots of variety and i don't go without a thing. I plan for everything IE. nights out, football, going away, visitors, celebrations etc even unexpected events.

I am very fortunate in my journey as my family and friends are very supportive. My daughter is extremely good & congratulates me all the time for little achievements. DD might suggest subway for lunch and i might say ' no I'll have a salad on a plate when i get home because i don't want to waste the points of a roll' but I'm happy to get you subway. DD might be having fish & chips for tea, she would ask what i wanted. I would say either 'no thanks' or 'can you please get a piece of grilled fish' & i will make up a salad at home. i know sometimes this isn't always possible but i have learnt the hard way. This time i am determined to get the weight off and keep it disposed of permanently!!!!! Of course i need help !!! Its a huge task losing weight and a slow process removing it. I need to do this for my health and happiness. I do have a few medical issues now that are rearing their head so i need to get my weight issues under control which in turn should fix some of these problems. I have been labelled 'obese' by several people, a title which i really don't like but i have done nothing about. I have now decided to do something about this and feel the only way to keep on track is to create a blog so i can be accountable for the things that i am doing. Here's hoping i chat to many people on my way that have been there and done that or that are on the same journey that i am.
