June 4th 2012 Getting Away

Last Monday the family went to the Murray to our caravan for a bit of a break from the dreary Melbourne weather. As much as its cold on the Murray, the days are so much better and normally filled with sunshine. We went over to Echuca on Tuesday to catch up with some friends, have lunch and enjoy a change of scenery. Wednesday and Thursday were spent doing some cleaning and a few repairs or general maintenance then Friday the Melbourne lot starting rolling in for some very entertaining times over the weekend. Sunday was clean up day, pack up day and drive home. I stayed, as the plumber (who was coming last Thursday/Friday was apparently coming Monday) so armed with not a lot and no car i bid my family farewell and prepared for my first night EVER alone in my caravan. I must admit, it took a while to get used to, but i survived and i am very proud of myself for that. its amazing how you can fill your day in. I have several books here that i want to read, but i just havent had the time. Its Tuesday morning, I'm still here alone and loving it. Its so peaceful, i think i just needed to recharge my batteries. I miss my family specially my grandchildren who keep me on my toes,
Who wouldnt miss this little cheeky face?
Heath and Ayden so intently watching TV, they didnt even notice me trying to take photos.
Heathy boy helping Nan cook!!! They are all so helpful.
Sausage Rolls the boys helped me make.

Sorry its been so long

Where does one restart when lifes journeys are all over the place.

I'll start from today!

Up at 5.00am, just could't sleep, starting watching my favourite cooking shows (as i get no time now with the twins who are nearly 3 years old - more on them later) Good Chef Bad Chef. It wasn't long before i had company and 2 little boys asking so nicely for Dora. That was the end of the cooking shows. After a back scratch & tummy rub they settled down for their morning Dora feast.
I took the opportunity to phone the hospital to check on my mother who has been in hospital for the past 4 weeks with gall stones which they have operated on but because of her age (85) there have been a few difficulties. This morning she wasn't feeling very well and in a lot of pain so i will make her some home cooked goodies and try to boost her spirits with those when i visit later today.

Meanwhile my DD, SIL & 5 week old baby woke up and the house was alive with chatter, breakfasts, washing, folding, tidying and plans for the day.

This is as far as we have got so i'll get back and add to this post later today.

My beautiful grandsons NOW!!! Of course and my beautiful daughter.

Well i really don't know where to begin. I love reading blogs, getting ideas and trying to put them into practice. My goal is to get a veggie garden up and running in my yard. I would like to start the process of being self sufficient, in the process, teach the twins about gardening and helping Nana in the garden. We do have a lemon tree and a couple of dwindling tomato vines. We have just put in some herbs to make cooking more flavourful. Its really still a work in progress and a learning thing as well.

My DD has resumed her studies to complete VCE. Also doing an Interior Design Diploma. She has gone back to work part time. The twins go into Daycare One day a week. Some days are better than others. They can certainly be a handful but i wouldn't change things for the world. I love all my family to bits.

My Health issues are still hanging around and i've had nothing but dissappointment with the Austin Hospital. Just been diagnosed with Diabetes, just to add to the collection. Hence i was advised to go onto a low GI Diet, pffttt well thats all good and fine but low GI isn't necessarily Low in Fat!!!!! Hmmm This was all too much so i've decided to go back to Weight Watchers for the ummteeth time :) I think this time i have to do it for me and my health, if i really do want to be around enjoying my grandchildren for many years to come. Of course i would also like to see my daughter grow into a beautiful young mother and enjoy seeing her raising her children.

MIA for the past 18 months

Lets bring this blog up to date.
The Twins are now 18 months old and growing rapidly and into everything as expected, at this age.
I've been on a cruise and had a couple of weeks in Qld with my family and met quite a few of my fellow weight watchers on the forum.
My own health is not that crash hot so here we go again on the weight loss trail.
Over the past 2 years i've been busy with the twins of course and trying to get some organisation into the house.
We finally have a deck under the pergola, which is fantastic for the twins, and its added some extra space.
My DD has turned 18 and has now got her licence. wooo hooo (thats old news though because she is nearly 19)
I'll blog properly tomorrow. i just wanted to get this started again.
Cheers to you all
Sue

Monday 15th September 2008

Well a great week has been had by all. Heath and Ayden are both cruising along nicely and both gaining weight as they should. If only i was losing the same amount they are gaining !!! I'd be one happy Nana. LOL. Fortunately they are extremely good babies and pretty much sleep and eat. I don't hear them through the night, which is excellent because i am getting my sleep without interruption. I am available throughout the day to help my DD whenever she needs it, which is pretty much never. DD has adjusted to motherhood like a duck to water. She is simply fantastic and taking it all in her stride. Very relaxed about everything, which is making for a very stress free house. Everyone is happy which is fantastic considering there are 2 newborn/prem babies in the house. Abbey the chihuahua is adjusting nicely as well.
On the weight loss things have been a bit out of sorts but trying to stay within my points. I think i went over them a couple of times during this past week which will probably show on the scales tonight. :( We have had quite a few visitors dropping in to see the babies and there has been numerous coffees and cakes/biscuits etc bought into our home which would not normally be here. This will all stop eventually and we can all be back on track. Its the temptation that i removed when i first went on my weight loss journey. I guess these obstacles are put in our way to see if we can move on past them. Some i can and some i cant. I am getting better though.
Well that is all for now until i weigh in tonight and report back.
